Myocardial Perfusion Scintigraphy Survey 2007
On behalf of the European Council of Nuclear Cardiology (www.ecnc-nuclearcardiology.org) and the (xxx national) society (www.xxx.org) I write to ask for your assistance in an important project. This is the second of a regular series of surveys and it concerns activity in myocardial perfusion scintigraphy throughout Europe. Previous national surveys have had important roles in service planning and in lobbying for resources and your assistance in this effort may have indirect benefit for your own practice. The results will be published and will be available to all participants.
I appreciate that you are asked for information from many different sources and that this request may duplicate others that you have received. However, this will be a profession-led survey of activity throughout Europe and its importance should be obvious. With your help, we shall have a powerful tool to guide our future practice.
The survey uses an internet-based form and has to be completed on-line. There are only two obligatory questions and the minimum response will take very little of your time. We ask for the number of myocardial perfusion studies (patients) that you performed in 2007 and the size of the population that you serve for such studies. The population may be difficult to estimate but the questionnaire provides hints on how you might do this. There are also some optional questions that will help us to assess how nuclear cardiology is practiced. Most of these questions will be relatively simple and the more that you can answer then the more complete will be the picture of European practice. If you do not know some of the numeric answers then estimates will be sufficient.
